The reps at Dieselops where I ordered the system insist there is no need to have it flashed back to stock prior to installing the PPEI EZ Lynk. One thing I'm still unclear about is whether I need to have my truck flashed before installing the EZ Lynk. I'm really looking forward to getting it and uploading the tunes. I ordered it today so should be here in a few days. After doing lots of research I finally decided to get the EX Lynk tuner with SOTF switch. Thanks! Yep, that's what the power cord is it has a HDMI end on it up at the dash. Could I use it for monitoring gauges only if I kept running the ghost tune that's in it now?Īny help would be appreciated and yes, I know I shouldn't have bought it without the tuner but the truck is really nice and got a really good deal on it. I have a SCT x4 tuner that I use on my 6.0 bullet proofed truck. Are there any other options? I really want to be able to choose between tunes and monitor gauges on my tuner. 3: Just drive it the way it is ( unknown tune ). 2: Buy a new H&S mini max and using the current tune as "stock" upload new tunes and use the mini max. From my limited knowledge it appears to me that my options are 1: Take it to a dealer and have it flashed back to stock then install a tuner of my choosing. If anyone has suggestions as to what my options are please advise. Also I found what looks like a thumb drive in the center console that says H&S on it so about 99% certain that the tune currently in the truck is an H&S tune but have no idea which tune - street, tow, race etc. It runs from down where it can plug into the OBD up to the dash below the windshield. The power cord (OBD) cord is still in the truck that went to the tuner that was in the truck. It's also shifted firm on upshift in lower gears but only a couple times at low rpm. Not a slamming shift just firmer than stock. It does shift firm on downshift from 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st. The truck runs great and no engine lights. The problem is the previous owner or someone took the tuner out of the truck and I have no way of knowing what tune I'm running, no way to change tunes and no way to monitor. I just purchased a 2011 F250 6.7 that has had EGR DPF deleted and 5" pipe from the downpipe back.
